"Cornish Meadow Speckled" - The Maran was one of the last breeds to be introduced to the UK. It was developed in France in the town of Marans in the mid 1800s. Lays dark speckled eggs.

"Bovans Nera" - She is a straight cross between a Barred Plymouth Rock and a Rhode Island Red. Lays brown eggs.

"Meadow Light" - The Sussex originated in the county of Sussex more than 100 years ago. The Light Sussex hybrid has cob in her & lays light brown eggs.

"Meadow Silver" - This Light Sussex hybrid is a mainly black bird with silver hackle feathers around the neck and chest. Lays light brown eggs.

"Leghorn" - This chicken originates from the Port of Leghorn in Italy and arrived in Britain in the late 1800s. They are sprightly, alert birds and can be tamed but not enough to allow handling and prefer to remain rather aloof (confirmed!) and will roost in trees given the chance (confirmed!). Lays white eggs.

We sell our surplus eggs at the farmhouse.

(be quick we sell out most days)
